Jumpin’ Off Place

Long time no bloging. What to say?! Nothing special, just… I’m a married man now 🙂 Things around my wedding drove me back from my camera a bit, but things are gonna be changed soon.

Dedicated to my friends (or Just below the clouds)

I was trying for few hours to write something memorable, something deep, but only empty phrases came out of my mind. I wanted to share some deep thoughts but they were no deeper than a rain puddle.

I had a great time today. We were climbing one of the Kozara peeks, not to high but with outstanding view. I dedicated this post to my friends because only they will find this worth reading(maybe), and just to remind myself of true values in this material world. I’m not feeling bad, just a bit sentimental. I’m not feeling blue, just a bit melancholy.

There’s only a thought, between sky and earth,

that can’t evaporate, or fall down to dirt,

just…

if thought is left alone to dry,

then why should it exist between earth and sky.

to all my friends

Honored I am (B5 in action)

For last two days I had an opportunity to assist Borut Peterlin during his project in BiH. Great man, great photographer, great pictures. We were traveling around Prijedor region (maybe a little bit wider).  Here are some pictures of B5 in action and few pictures of an outstanding place called Janjske Otoke near Šipovo. Boruts pictures(portraits) you can find on his blog. I had a great time working with him, and I hope it would not be the last.

Theater photography

I had an opportunity to work with local theater and to shoot for their archive. So, I did my preparation – read the script, went to rehearsals, did some test shoots on a pre premiere and finaly did my job. Sometimes , I had to improvise when guest show was on, and do my work on “place”, on premiere.  So, sometime, on a premiere show, theater was full of newspaper reporters with small compact cameras – and I do understand them ’cause they were doing their job – but so much flash lights in dark theater was so annoying. Next day, a reportage in newspapers was pretty short and general with bunch of bad pictures and lot of cliche “nothing to say” statements.

I asked a theatre manager how come that he as a manager can allow such thing happened when he has so much pictures in his archives? And why didn’t he organize a press conference where he could give some samples to newspapers?

Was I wrong?

Intimate space

This picture was made for Nikon photo competition few years ago. It didn’t went to the official competition because the post office in my country didn’t ship it at all. So the picture came back to me after almost a year without any stamps except of my home town. It was made for category: intimate space. Conceptual portraits are the most interesting side of photography for me.
