Short Spring Report

sanicani may-4
I’ve been away from my blog for some time. I have a lot of work to show but no time do it. Currently, I’m waiting for some more info about my possible exhibition at the end of May in Gallery 96. Also, I’m preparing a new story where I will try to resurrect a small mountain town, that has been abandoned some 40 years ago. Still working on a fish pond calendar for next year and here are some photos from few days ago.

Fish pond Saničani, near Prijedor. They are extracting all the fish from all lakes and transferring them in to winter ponds or on market. I will cover it for several days. These photos I took today. I was amazed when I heard that they extract up to 22 tons of fish from one net – same net that I shot them with today.
More to come.

City portrait #11 – Lazar Marčetić

Lazar Marčetić – director and manager of Saničani fish pond near Prijedor. I know Lazar for some time, and I tried to transfer my own vision of him in this portrait. I always saw him as an urban intellectual who live a quality and successful life. Active sportsman, involved in a cultural life of a city, successful career.
The idea was to show him as a worker (not a stereotypic manager kind a guy). So, fish net is symbolizing his occupation while basketball equipment (he was active basketball player for a long time and now he is helping in development of Prijedor sport life) symbolize his active way of life.
